“Dear Santa Clautf*
Dear Santa Claus: This is not original, I’m copying a fellow county agent, Allen McLearen of whom I think a great deal.
However since kids write you asking you for various favors, since kids are very oftpn far more right than we adults are willing to credit them, in spite of there being varying degrees oMikeness to kids' in us, I hope you. in this, busy time of year, will consider this letter as it lists some of the things I’d like to have most,for Christmas as well as some of die things I’d like you to bring to others.
First allow me the privilege of -working and living with the people of Rappahannock for another year. Give me the knowledge, will, patience, courtesy, health and ability necessary to help others to help themselves.
Secondly give my Rappahannock people the health, Icnowledge, ability, will and ability to help themselves as well as others. Allow them the water, the sunshine, the air, the soil to use wisely and efficiently.
Thirdly, dear Santa, if I’m asking for too much please • give to all of us, above everything else, a greater appreciation of why we have Christmas.
