Because of the many complaints reaching me, I brought the situation to the attention of Chairman Teague and Chairman Brent Spence (D.,Ky.) of the House Committee on Banking and Currency, which has responsibility for housing legislation. Both assured me that the matter would be investigated by the committee staffs.
Now, I am glad to report, the veteran will have his day in court at the hearing before Mr. Teajguc’s committee. It is to be hoped the result will be a change in policy which will enable veterans in . the 7th District and elsewhere to obtain what they thought their Government had promised them— the charice to buy their own homes on reasonable terms.•
