At last accounting, the Cancer Society contributions from Rappahannock County amounted to $487. This was $82 less than last year’s $569. The total receipts,' now on deposit,hr the Rappahannock National Bank, will be for-, warded to the Virginia office of the Society in' Richmond at die end of this month. An earnest plea is made to all citizens who have not yet contributed to send in a gift, so that we will at least equal last year’s contributions, and so that the efforts of the American Cancer Society will continue unchecked.

Last Saturday afternoon, twenty-eight high school students who had worked well in this year’s Cancer Crusade, boarded a school bus for a pleasant and informative trip to Monticello. The local chairman accompanied the students.

Sidelights on the trip:

Monticello hostess to Rappahannock High student, “Its a pity that you couldn’t have waited until Sunday to make this trip. The President of Indonesia and his party will be here.”

High School student to hostess, “I enjoyed riding with the President of Indonesia this morning from Washington, Virginia to Sperry ville.”
