tiai protests wnen it is proposed to eliminate any federal “research” activity, even such research projects as have produced a publication on “Posture in Homework— pictorially illustrates the, correct and incorrect postures in the performance of household duties”.

Once a publication is issued, the Government Printing Office, through its advertising, makes every effort to sell out the edition, which would seem to be proper. But a good sale merely gives an argument to the bureaucrats who thought up and produced the booklet that “public demand” necessitates renewed research for a new edition of the material.

We cannot cut down on the government publications unless we are willing to eliminate the countless little specialized research projects which could be done at less cost by trade association^, magazines or private educational institutions or research centers having a particular interest in the subject matter.
