Following a lone period of do* dining health, Charles Harrison Smith passed away suddenly early Wednesday morning, July 11th' at his residence and farm at Amissrille. . ( ■■ - v
Mr. Smith has been a prosperous and lifelong farmer of Rappahannock County and the son of the late Charles Edward Smith and the late Mary Catherine Duncan.He
was 74!years of age and is survived by his wife, the former Miss Louise Elisabeth Cropp, of Amissville and a daughter, Mrs. S. L. O’Bsnnon of Warrenton, Va.; a son, Garland Emerson Smith, of Amissville.
He held his membership with the Amissville Baptist Church, where he served as Deacon of the Church for many years.
His funeral services were conducted by his pastor, Rev. John Hod£e, with interment in the family section of the Fairview Cemetery in Culpeper. |
The pallbearers were Puller Hughes, Jr., Edwin Fields, William Cannon, William Bywaters, Thomas Williams, A. C. Latham, Landon Luttrell and Thomas Hughes.
There was a profusion of beautiful floral tributes and a large assemblage of friends from Culpeper, Rappahannock and Fauquier Counties were present for the services.
The services were arranged by the Geest Funeral Parlors of Cu*peper.
