Lake Hampton
Mrs. Gilbert Wharton, who has i been in the Winchester .Memorial Hospital for the past week is somewhat improved. On Sunday Miss Gladys Payne, Mrs. Buck Brown, Mrs. Ira Fincham and Gilbert* Wharton visited her.
Mr. and Mrs. Lee Payne and family of Boston spent Sunday with their mother, Mrs. George Payne. Other guests in the home were Mr. and Mrs. James Payne of Strasburg and Mr. and Mrs. George Jenkins of Front Royal.
Johnson Reunion
The Red Oak Johnson Clan will hold their annual picnic and reunion August 26th at "Oak Hill”, Sperryville, on the property of C. E. (Ned) Johnson, the same place it has been held for the last two or three years. All the descendents of the Red Oak Johnsons are invited to come and bring a picnic lunch. Drinks will be furnished.

Mr. and Mrs. P. W. Scudere, who have been on a Southern business trip, arrived Friday for a stay of two weeks at their home here. They visited ten states. Mr. and Mrs. Scudere had as their week end guest Mr. John M. Scudere of Detroit, Michigan.
Mr. and Mrs. Irving Sisk Jr., of Manassas were dinner guests on Sunday of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Irving Sisk Sr.
Mrs. Irving Sisk was in Front Royal on Monday to attend the funeral of Mrs. Clarence Voight. Mrs. Sisk and Mrs. Voight worked together at the "Viscose” plant.
