Who says no-hitters are rare? When Floyd Riley and Lkkliter combined to pitch a no-hitter Sunday, it was the second of its kind that the Flint Hill pitching staff has turned in this year. Both were against Orange.
Flint Hill finished the season with a 4 - O record against Orange.
Floyd Riley was the Flint Hill starter, and after pitching three innings of hitless ball, walked the first two Orange batters in the fourth, and was relieved by Lickliter. From then on it was all Lickliter, as he retired seventeen straight batters after coming on to pitch. His only trouble came with two out in the 9th, when Viar walked, stole second, and went to third on a wild pitch. With the potential tying run on third, Lickliter continued his brilliant pitching by striking out the next batter to end the game.
