Woodrow Wilson Visioned World Union for Peace

Last Friday commemorated the 100th birthday of the eighth Virginian to attain the office of President of the United States. Thomas Woodrow Wilson, bom December 28, 1856 at Staunton, was destined to become a great educator, writer. Governor, and President. For this he should be saluted. It was this same Wilson who became the first' world leader to vision a world union and an international peace. For this/ our dream of yesterday may become the reality of tomorrow.
As a boy, Wilson viewed tragedies during the War between the States. They formed an impression he would remember the rest of his life. He said, “my earliest recollection is of standing at my father’s gateway in Augusta, Georgia, when I was four years oldf and hearing sopae old ones pass and say that Mr. Lincoln was elected and there was to be war.
