charcoal and markets it through a jobber. The land which he has been clearing will be, planted in pine with the help of the State Division of Forestry.
Heath will not only make a profit on clearing his land, but he will also start a crop that will be valuable to him and his children in years to come. He hopes that some day there may be a charcoal briquetting plant in the vicinity. He points out that an ideal location for such a plant is Nelson County, centrally located, with a major river and railroad, excellent highways and plentiful raw ma- ’ terial for making charcoal.
But Heath has not stopped with charcoal. He has noticed the waste that accrues from cutting operation : small branches, leaves, pine needles and other organic substances left on the ground. He has plans for utilizing this seemilgly worthless material also—but that is another story,
