Because of the tremendous amount of surveying and engineering work required, relatively few miles of the precise permanent locations of these major routes in Virginia have been fixed. It still is Impossible, therefore, to answer adequately the questions most frequently asked, such as, “Will the new Route 55 cut through the heart of my town, or bypass It?” “Will, the new route 60 run to the north, or to the south, of Its present location?”
Our Virginia State Highway Department has indicated there will be opportunity for citizens of Effected localities to be heard as to their desires.
