we loot ror Virginia cattle markets to follow the general downward trend again this week.
Steers in Virginia auctions last week lost 35c to average $17.50; all cattle, off 30c to average $14.05. In Chicago, choice and better steers were 50c to $1 lower at $21.75 to $24.50, under 1300 'pounds weight. Over 1300 pounds averaged $19.50 to $24.25. Other grades steady to 50c lower.
Prices are sensitive to receipts, and supplys are running about 15% higher than last week. *
In Virginia’s state-graded fat cattle sale last week at Fredericksburg, 209 steers and heifers were sold with these results:
950-1100 pound choice steers, $20.80 to $21.60.
800-950 pound drake steers, $$20.40 to $21.50.
1100 pounds and over, $19.50 to $$20.60.
950-1100 pound good grade steers, $18.90 to $$20.20.
