LETTER TO THE EDITOR
With the R. C. H. S. Basketball teams nearing the end of their most sucessful season in many years, I would like to speak for myself, and all other interested fans, in tendering a hearty vote of thanks to two men to whom much' of the sucess is due—namely Mr. Ray Wertz and Mr. Amos Hawkins. ,
Speak, of unsung heroes! We cheer and praise the players when, ■all goes well; we encourage them when things go wrong; we sympathize with their bruises and aptained ankles; yet all too seldom do we speak a word of encouragement and praise to the coaches. These coaches have taught, trained and inspired the girls and boys, and they too, have suffered with the infirmities taped die ankles and uttered words of encouragement.
The indefinable something with which a coach inspires a team to play almost beyond its potential has been much in eidence this 1956 -*57season, and the love and confidence with which the’ players regard their coaches is a heart-warming spectacle. So—-our thanks to Mr. Wertz and to Mr. Hawkins, our unsung heroes/May tltey long.be with us at R. C. H. S.
