LETTER TO THE EDITOR

Washington, Virginia

March 19, 1957 Editors, Rappahannock News Washington, Va. Dear Sirs;

I have a printed form letter, signed by Robert L. Brown, County Treasurer, which demands $2.10 claimed to be due on December 5th 1956 on the “1956 State Income Tax”, A notation written by Mr. Brown states that this is the third demand. >

Conversation with Mr. Brown, and Mrs. Spalding, the Commissioner of Revenue, has failed to put the matter right. I can get no satisfaction from either.

Since this is a printed form, I am wondering how many more of the taxpayers in this County have had similiar demands made upon them and also failed to get any satisfaction from the TaxAuthorities.

The printed form states “1956 twtksoQgioooopopooaoooopot.
