The Teachers-’ Contest of Rappahannock County was brought to a close last Sunday night at the First Baptist Church. Mrs. Genea DeVane was crowned "The Teacher”, having brought in the highest amount of money.
The pupils from each school made the program quite interesting and enjoyable. The program was a follows:
Rev. R. C. Davis, Master of Ceremonies, Introduction, Mrs. Dorothy Butler Bible Verse, Students of Flint Hill School; Duet, Misses Carolyn and Demetric Jordan; Songs, Students of Scrabble SchoolPlaylet, “This Is Your Life Virginia,'” was presented by pupils of Washington Elementary School. Announcements: John Turner; Reid Frye and Miss Lillian G. Russell. Miss Mandy Palec played the part of Virginia and Miss Loisteen Fletcher, America The Beautiful. Crowning, “The Teacher,”’ was performed by Rev. Thomas Proctor.
