Funeral services were conducted at the Hopewell Baptist Church, Sperryville, oij May 28 for Frank Fitzhugh, who passed away in Brooklyn, N. Y. Mr. Fitzhugh was a former resident of Sperryville. His wife, the late Jennie Fitzhugh, preceeded him in death 2 years ago.
Mr. Fitzhugh was a member of the Hopewell Baptist Church for 72 years,’ a chairman of the Trustee Board and treasurer at the time of his death. He also served on the board of deacons for many years.
We have lost a faithful member. He leaves to mourn his lost three daughters, Mrs. Lena Anderson, Mrs. Virginia Broadus and Mrs. Gertrude Porter of Brooklyn, N. Y.; four sons, Amos and Raymond Fitzhugh of N. Y. and William and Robert Fitzhugh of Pittsburgh, Pa.; one brother, Henry Fitzhugh of Sperryville; a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
The Women's Club of the First Baptist Church, will meet in the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Carter, Friday night, June 7 at 7:30.
The Pulpit Committee will meet in the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Hunter, June 11.
The Missionary Circle met at the home of Mrs. Havannah Jeffries Tuesday night. After meeting of important business, delicious refreshments were served by the hostess. The next meeting will be in the home of Mrs. Nannie -Starks on July 2 at 7:30 p.m. ( _
