Royal, Va. Mr. Updike is doing nicely. Joe Reid .who is a student at Columbia University, New York, was a guest over the weekend of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. G. Reid and attended the graduation exercises of his sister, Mrs. Bruce Bowie at Madison College on Sunday.
Miss Becky Jones, who has been ^attending Iyongwood College, returned Thursday. Her father, grandmother and sister, Segar, motored*to Farmville to bring her home.
L. J. Turner, Jr., who attended Duke University, returned to his home here or. Thursday. He left Sunday for Baltimore where he will be connected with the same business firm he worked for last year.

The Program Planning Commitee for the Rappahannock Co. Celebration wishes to express its deep appreciation to all the committees who helped make last week’s many events so successful.
A vote of thanks is most certainly due Mrs. Elizabeth DeBergh and Mr. Jack DeBergh for the very capable way in which they planned and managed the hayride and hike up The Devil’s Stairs on Saturday. Thanks to Mr. Hoover Foster who drove one of the tractors is also due. A crowd of young people and adults numbering about 40 met in front of the Court House at 1:00 p.m. Two wagons^ filled with hay and drawn by tractors, were on hand to provide
