Chief Forest Warden Raymond Johnson of Woodvillc is asking all citizens of Rappahannock to do all they can to prevent fire*. “No rain of any consequence has fallen in Rappahannock since June 20th. Our rivers are almost dry, the woods - floor is dry and pastures are gone,” he says. - “A brush fire out of control, a cigarette thrpwn by a careless person can cause thousands of dollars worth of damage.”
To date no big forest fires' have occurred in the county , but they have in the adjoining counties of Culpeper and Fauquier. Let’s keep Rappahannock green if possible!
