Machinist-Mate 3/c, U. S. N.. Richard Wayland and Mrs. WaylairU, who- are now stationed at Portsmouth, spent the weekend with Mrs. James Clater. On Friday evening, Mrs. Wilson Burke arranged a miscellaneous shower for her sister, Mrs. Wayland.a. recent bride, in the Lee Highway Hotel dining room. There were about thirty guests present.

Miss Bonnie Brown have returned from a week’s vacation which they spent in the Smokey Mts.. also visiting Jamestown and Williamsburg enroute home. . "Elder and Mrs. C. W. Miller spent the weekend in Browntown, where they attended the Old Baptist Union meeting and were overnight guests on Saturday of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Partlow. Elder Miller extended his visit this week with Mr. and Mrs. Will Lowe in Purcell ville. Miss Dolly Smith and her friend Miss Bonnie Lewis of Washington, D. C. spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. George Brown.

Russell Swindler and his daughter. Linda of Brentwoo<f. Maryland were overnight guests Thursday of his mother. Mrs. O. B. Swindler and his sister. Miss Barbara Swindler. On the same evening. Mr. and*Mrs. Rov Swindler entertained Russell Swindler, Linda and Bill Swindler at supper.
