Fire At “Laurel Hill”

Quick anil efficient action on the pa ft of the Castleton and Amissvrlle Fire Companies, with the splendid cooperation of neighbor« is credited with averting a maior forest fire in the Laurel Mills seetion on Thursday, August 8th.

A tractor, working near a wooded section, mostly pine trees. - t the farm of General Daniel \oce, caught fire and despite the fee* that three fire extinguishers iv-re used the fire spread to the re!d. William M rue fee ran quite a distance to the Noce home to give the alarm and carried the fire fighting equipment to the scene.

Generali \oce was away at the rune, but Mrs, Noce. stayed bv the telephone, and in] almost an incredibly short time the Castleton and Amissville Fire Companies, and about fifty neighbors, were working to keep the fire from spreading. ■ Retween three and four acres of pasture were burned.
