Virginia informs us that application forms, for thei r Korean Bonus are not available for distribution as had previously been announced, and that they wjll not be released until a future ddte to be set later. When the bom(s bonds were finally approved ifi March 1957 it was planned; that payment of the 181,4 million dolfar bonus to West Virginia veterans would start on July 1. 1957. The legislature in March placed a imit of 3.25 percent on the interest rate because at that time it was thought that this rate was high enough to attract investors. In the meantime the price of money pas gone up and West Virginia isj faced with the problem of selling rhe bonds in a money market higher than the limit imposed by tiheir law.
As happened alfter W W II. West Virginia Korean veterans have migrated to our state in sizeable numbers, and we hope to keep them abreast of developments in the Wost Virginia Bonus picture as they occur.
