Christening
Jackson Newbill Miller. Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Newbill Miller, was christened on Sunday. August 11 at St. James Episcopal Church. Warrenton, just after the 11 o’clock service with the Rev. Paul Bowden, Rector, officiating. Sponsors were Mrs. Janies Hodgkins. Warrenton; Dr. William Allison, Richmond and D. D. Miller Jr. of Roanoke. A family luncheon followed at the home of Dr. \V illiam Hodgkins. Among the 40 guests were Mr. and Mrs. D. D. Miller and their house guests. Mr. and Mrs. P. E. Ralls of Hanover, Mrs. J. Hares' Dillard of Richmond and Mr. and Mrs. D. D. Miller, Jr. of Roanoke, Mrs. Harold Brown and Mrs. Preston Avery of Winchester.

Information is lacking as to just what happened at the Old Jett House” after “Cousin Wheeler took his sudden departure leaving the turkev he had been asked to carve under the table. Also it is not known just who the other two beaux were.
However, it is known that the lovely I/Cna’s charm was spoken of in main places. The late Mrs. Hunt Miller ot Charles Town, West Virginia, when she cam- To Rappahannock as a bride, had heard much about her from the Mr. Hawlin who had vexed "Bolev" so often during h‘s courting days.
From Marblehead. Mass., came the "man who wax to claim her as his bride. He was Dr. Passenger, over nv’.T the fa:r Lena’s age, wealthy and very nice.
Practically nothing is known of her life after going to Massachusetts to live, except that her foster parents spoke of Her as being very 'happy and a devoted and thoughtful wife of the old Doctor.
