It certainly is nice being around again. We went to see Mrs. William Meade Fletcher on Sunday. She looks and feels just fine. Col. and Mrs. King were There, also Mrs. Edwin Gibson and Miss Gladys Winfield of Culpeper. While ther^ we visited with Mill.e and her fantiily. She was telling us a story about Bill singing in church. Bill! was told by his father to sing. Not knowing the words, Bill replied* “Daddy. I’m singing from my heart.”
We are glad to hear from “Baby Sister” that John Turner has been made a mejmber of the “K.I.A.” Club . . . ISee if you can figure out what it means . . . then ask Carolyn—
If you are ever in a-mood to try a-~ different recipe for a delicious dessert,' try this one. One pkg. of black cherry jdfe dissolved in one cup of boiling water. Let cool and add one cup of sherry, one jar of black pitted cherries, one-half cup of pecan nuts and serve with frozen whipped cream. It’s GOOD.
Won’t be long before the Pointto-Point Races. March seventh is the date. I do hope the ground hog didn’t see his shadow today so we will have nice weather. We love seeing all the people there almost as much as we enjoy the races. It is a good place to meet friends you have not seen since last year . . . Hope we meet “You*’ there.
Goodness knows what will happen when it is time to plow gardens in Amissville. Mr. John Poes old white horse, “Bill’ has gone on to greener pastures. He was a faithful friend and will be missed.
Well after thirty years, Jan.e Boo Lewis is returning to her home town in Crockett, Texas. Boo and Mr and Mrs. Moscarella left Friday to accompany Mrs. Carrie Eastham back, to her home.
Mr. Watts just left for Florida, The barbershop looks so deserted. Well, maybe he will run into some of the other Rappahannockans vacationing in the south.
