Many may think their Sunday public profession is about all that is required cf them, but to many of such, our !ord will say, “Depart from mie, I never tnew you.” That is, he never recognized them as true deciples. Men may fool the public and use their religion as a cloak to hide their real character, or even deceive themselves as James tells us, but they do not decefc'e God who knows our every day life. You can’t fool God. A true disciples of (phrist Is one who truly loves him and tries daily to be hisi follower. | Read the Ten Commandments if you desire to be a true follower of God. Many say we should not make It too hard or we will have but a few followers, but will our disciples please God and get him to recognize them as his. "My leaders have caused my people to error”, it is written.
Do we love God? If so, do we show it by our wialk and conversation^ Do we love our neighbor as ourselves? That is, treat him like we would like to be treated.. Do we love our enemies and pray for them? Many who for a while followed! Jesus thought him too strict and went back. Many who were not willing to accept his doctrine forsook him.
The characteristics cf little . children are these: Love or devotion to those who are related to them trust or implicit confidence in he wisdom and ability of their parents; weakness as they are unable to help themselves; simplicity or the nnworldliness so manifested, .'n their actions and motives; and finally dependence upon others for everything. So the disciples who enter into the fullness of Christ must be dependent upon him. The}’ must love their Saviour and said, “Little children abide in( him.”'
