Achievement Awards ife chosert and is given an expense paid trip to the National 4 H Congress in Chicago, November 29 through December 3, J959. Stopping by John OBannon’s, son of Mr. and Mrs. Maurice O’Bannon, I saw his Yorkshire gilt which is bred to our Sear’s tear, and she really looks good. While in the Woodvflle area, I dropped by to see Steve Hawkins, who has two cows he has raised and is buying calves to put on them until they reach around 200 pounds. He is looking for a bred heifer to replace one of his older cows, and then he will be 'back in business again.
Randall Updike and Harrison Powers were in the office this week getting started on their Achievement Records, 'Randall Will submit his record for the “Meat Animal” ’award and Harrison for the “Garden” Award.
This Monday evening we had an excellent turn-out for the 4-H Tractor Maintenance Project in Culpeper. Fourteen boys were very interested in the instruction given to them by Donald Gore and Mr. Bill Burton at Hoffman Implement Q>.
