Allen Melvin Hitt
Allen Melvin Hitt, 38 year old son of Mr. and- Mrs. John F. Hitt of Amissville, was killed instantly Friday night, February 6th in an automobile accident which occured near Huntly, Rappahannock County, Virginia.
Besides his parents he is survived by two sons, Dennis Lee 'Hitt and Allen Melvin Hitt, J r. of Amissville; two sisters Mrs. John Gaines of Herndon, Va. and Mrs. Silas L. Jolliffe of Amissville, Va.
Graveside funeral services were held Monday, February 9th at 2 p.m. in the family cemetery, Viewtown, Va. Reverend John Hodge conducted the last rites.
Active pallbearers were Ellis Smith, Hayvood Hitt, Floyd Hitt, Jackie Butler, Landon Walker and Downing Hitt.
