At fort Defiance
For Summer Months
A designed portion of Episcopal Spring Convocation Offerings, together with a contribution from her home parish, Brumfield, will transport Miss Mary Norman Davis, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George H. Davis, Jr. of Washington. Va. to Arizona where she will work for two months with Navajo children and adults at the Good Shepherd Mission. After that, as president-elect of Mary Washington College Canterberry Club, she will attend the National Canterberry Conference at Colorado Springs. Her tuition will be paid by the women of St. George’s Church in Fredericksburg.
During high school Mary Norman taught Sunday school at. Trinity Episcopal Church, served as an officer in her church young people’s group and in the Diocesan House of Young Churchmen.
Because of these experiences, plus a summer of helping with the Teen-Age and Family Conferences at Shrine, Mont., Miss Davis says she wishes all young people could have an opportunity to participate in church activities, local and Diocesan.
Miss Gray Awarded $7,500
As Result Of Accident
$7,500 was awarded Miss Sylvia Gray, aged 19, of Stanley,>by a Page County jury last Saturday at the close of-a three day suit against the estate of Charles Wayland of Sperryville. ' ?
Miss Gray was injured in an ruromobile accident September 29, ’957 two miles east of Luray when be was a passenger in die car Wayland was driving. Wayand and two others were killed.
A. E. 'Hackley represented Miss Gray and J. W. Fletcher, Sperryrille and Lynn Lucas of Luray represented the Wayland Estate.
