Mr*. William Meade Fletcher, Mr*. Harold Faulkner and Mia* Frances Smith spent several days in New York this week. During the absence of Mr*. Faulkner, her daughter Carol visited her uncle and aunt Mr. and Mrs. James W. Fletcher at their home Thornton HilL Mr. and Mrs. P. Lee Thornton arid Mrs. James W .Fletcher visited Mrs. Mildred Thornton Sunday.

Rev. and Mrs. A. Paul Thompson of Fork Union were weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. J. Rodes Brown. Rev. Thompson returned to Fork Union and Mrs. Thompson and daughter Ann Rodes remained for ar longer visit.

Mis. Ida Devers and grandson 'Bobby Miller were overnight guests Wednesday of Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Devers and attended the graduation of her grandson Buddy Devers.

Weekend guests at Barlow, the home of Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Gore and Mrs. Helen Bruce were Robert Brown, his brother-inlaw Leroy Hoggard of Newport News, Mias Mary 'Helen Bruce of Richmond, Mr. and Mrs. Don Os
