4-H’ers Attend Short
Course At V.P.I.
On Monday morning, June 22, a group of outstanding Rappahanock County 4-H’ers left Culpeper
attiend the State 4-H Short to Course Payne,
These were: Dorothy
Paechey Lyne, Tish Kilby, Betty Kay Kilby, Walter B. Kilby, Harrison Powers, Lyle Updike and Francis Updike, accompanied by Mias Anna Ruth Barnette. Uparrtval
at V.P.I., the group on was joined by Randall Updike and Glenn | Updike.
During the week that followed, these 4-H’ers had the opportunity to meejt with the 1100 club members filom throughout the state. The winners of the state awards were ahnounced for both Achievement record books and demonstracontests.
Rappahannock had tion the wihning livestock judging team and Glenn Updike was one of four in the state chosen as an outstanding member to attend the “National Camp” in Washington, D. C. jLelia Gentry received a certificate}
of honor from the 4-H on having! won 2 Fullbright Scholarship :l
