Recreatioal and Social activities, of the scheduled sort, are in sway from 9>:30 p.m. to 11:30 pan.— those who can’t take it, or didn't make the grade, then go to bod. Others_well how should I know?
Next morning the hearty (and gossipy) souls are up and at ’em bright and early. After breakfast the young, old, male and female part company again. That is if they choose to do so—liberty prevails as there is no herding about. Chances are each program will attract mixed ages and sexes. At Commerce Hall talks scheduled are “Consumer Information for Buying Clothing and Household Fabrics” to be followed by “The Shape of Buildings to Come”, Section II will meet at Squires Hall. Here T. M. Hahn, Head Department Physics VPI leads off with “Atomic Fall-Out and Your Food” to be followed by discussion and recess(no hand signals necessary.)
After the breather, Dr. Petersen of Minnesota will talk on “New Horizons in the Use of Agricultural Products for Human Consumption”. Section III again at the Lyric will hear Mrs. George H. Harat on “Youth and the Importance of Right Decisions”. Thursday afternoon includes more Agricultural Economics. You may want to pass this one by, not that we have anything ‘agin’ the Ag. Ec. boys but because the Animal Husbandry boys will be holding forth at the same time. George Litton, Dept. Head, simply is the hottest rock to land at V.P.I. (in our book anyway) during the century. The new Animal 'Husbandry barn and judging pavillion, where he’ll be chief host are something worth seeing themselves.
