C. E. Johnson, Jr. of Sperryville, with sixteen club members participating. Foi ir 50-m i n u t e classes were held covering the following: forest fire fighting tools and their uses tree identification; chemical control of weed trees,
to prune. Two and why and how classes were held before lunch and two after lunch !with each boy
bringing his own jpicnic.
In the late afternoon, die boys and theiT parents; were guests at Forest Committeeman, L. J. Kilby’s pond followed by a picnic supper with Yancey Bark & Lumber Co. of Culpeper and the Rappahannock County Farm Bureau as hosts.
Instructors for Hie classes were Raymond Johnson, County Foresi Warden; C .Edward Gill, Extension Forester; W. jH. Lyne, County Agent; and Walter' Saunders Assistant County Agent.
