Grading System
Director* of the Rappahannock County Farm Bureau held a meeting at the Court House in Washington on July 20th with their President, Gen. Daniel Noce, presiding.
The County organization expressed its STRONG opposition to abolishing the present Lamb Grading System of the USDA. (The Midwestern Lamb Feeders and Packers are bringing strong pressure to abolish the system.) Ir was pointed out that the present system was very good for Virginia lambs since they are raised primarily for meat_are milk fed.—— and of higher quality than lambs from other sections, grading 76 precent “choice”. This means that consumer and producer have QUALITY PROTECTION.
