The Rappahannock Industrial Committee, at a meeting held on Tuesday evening, May 17 at the courthouse in Washington, report- ? ed the drive for financial pledges is progressing very satisfactorily. As of Tuesday 85% of the goaL of $40,000 had been reached and: there should be no difficulty at all— in having the entire amount pledged by May 28 which is the date set as a tentative deadline.
A labor survey is getting started this week. The Committee is mailing cards for this purpose. The survey card is not to be mistaken for an application for employment. It is only a form of questionnaire to ascertain the interest In such employment and the available labor supply. Not every family in the county will get one of the cards, but anyone who desires a card and fails to receive one may get one by contacting a member of the Committee in the community in which they live. If you receive a card and do rot care to use it, please pass it on to an interested party.
The Committee will meet May 51 at which rime they hope to be labor potential. With that in mind please return the survey card you leceive. as promptly as possible. "
