Granular Herbicides

As you realize, theere has been considerable farmer’s interest developed in regard to granular formulations of herbicides. Following are some facts which should be considered before advising the use of granular herbicides:
1. Cost of granular herbicides ... Granular herbicides are advertised as being cheaper than sprays. In mest cases, a band application of the granular formulation is being compared to a broadcast application of spray. Actually, the most of granular formulations is between 1/4 ami ^3 more than the equivalent as a spray formulation.
2. Soil preparation- Smooth seedbed preparation is absolutely necessary for pood coverage with granules. evi n more important than the sprays. In general, about Ys more chemical is suggested where granules are used., to overcome some of the effects of poor seedbed preparation.
