At last the hydrant on the corner of Gay Street has been fixed. All of that precious water lost. The repair part was lost in the mail. Nobody’s fault, goodness knows Marty tried hard enough.
Mary Latham dropped by to see us today. She hadn’t been around for a long time. Found out that this is Latham birthday week, congratulations to Mary, Sarah and Sally.
Listen you ladies, I understand that things are not going* very fast at the rummage sale and they do have some nice things. Weaver's in Front Royal sent them some lovely and useful articles.
We are having a storm this afternoon. Heidi is sitting'on my lap at the desk..scared to death. Thank goodness Mr. Butler did lots of planting in the garden yesterday. We did have radishes Saturday for the fust time; real good and hot.
Well, Stew and Evie.vvill be home tomorrow for about two.weeks. This last good-bye is going to be awful, j Formosa is a long way away, and tw0 years a hundred, but they 111 enjoy it and we’ll love hearing jthem tell of their travels and experiences.
