Twenty-five persons'left Washington, Va. June 15 by chartered Virginia Trailways bus for a sightseeing tour of Washington, D. C.
The weather was ideal and the air-conditioned bus most comfortable.
The first place visited was the White House. After a guided tour of the Washington Cathedral, a picnic lunch was enjoyed in the cathedral garden.
The group arrived at Arlington Cemetery for the impressive changing of.the guard ?t the tomb of the unknown soldier. Lee-Curtis mansion was then toured followed by a visit to Mount Vernon. Every one agreed it was a wonderful trip and no one was “a bit tired”.

Mrs. Josie Wharton of Castleton announces the marriage of her daughter, Lillie Mae Wharton, to Johnny Johnson, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Johnson of Alexandria, Va., on Saturday, June 18, at the residence of the officiating minister, Rev. Mack Morgan at Washington, Va.
Beside the parents of the bride and groom, those present were Mr. and Mrs. Marshall Burke of Woodville. After a short trip, Mr. and Mrs. Johnson will make their home in Arlington where both are employed.
