hlsewhere in the voluminous bill are six changes in the law which I sponsored, four of them as a result of facts developed in last winter’s hearings of the Subcommittee on Administration of the Social Security Laws, of which I have the honor to be chairman:
1. Removal of the age-50 eligibility requirement for social security disability benefits, anticipated to be of help to at least 250,000 citizens and their dependents. (Our subcommittee hearings developed that the totally disabled under 50 could be accorded eligibility without raising the existing progression of social security taxes.)
