"Turn your hobby into a profitable business”, says J. E. Ellmore. who, last year bought a tract of land near Amissville and has since cleaned it up and in the spring constructed hotbeds. He now has a paying plant business.
With his love of gardening and a very “green thumb”, Mr. Ellmore raises not only the common varieties of tomatoes, cabbage, pepper, etc. plants, but enjoys experimenting with hybrids and unusual plants. He has eleVen varieties of tomatoes and the scarlet runncbeans waving from the poles are really beautiful.
Last year he had a variety' of tomato which from »ix plants he picked about eight bushels of tomatoes.
The best part of thea-whole business, according to Mr. Ellmore, is meeting and getting to know many lovely people.
He plans in the future to expand his business. Aside from his hobbies, Mr, Ellmore is busy carrying I he star mail route from Warrenton to Washington, Va. and back.
