Dear Folks

The little rain we had Sunday night did some good. The gardens are just popping again, beans, squash, more beans and squash. Wade, Jr. and Tom Massie have really been working in their garden this afternoon and it's hot as fire, but up home at lunch today, Virginia Smith was having a sandwich with us and believe it or not, it was so cold in the house we had to go on the porch (big fan in the kitchen window—just marvelous).

Bert Spalding and Bobbie are truly having a wonderful time. Bert’s cards sound as happy as 1 know she is to see Bobbie again.

Cards from Jim Bill, Bucky and Cathy Fletcher sound as though they are having a wonderful trip. They are at the convention in Los Angeles—I know, last week I said San Francisco. Last night Trippy and Shelia Keating came up to watch the convention with us. 1 told everyone to look closely. We may see Jim Bill.

Miss Annie Stephenson had such a nice interesting letter from Bucky that I asked her to please let me have it for my Ramblings. I am sure you will enjoy reading what I have taken from it. Wish they would write one for my column. Wouldn’t that be interesting?

We saw some Mennonites driving down the road in an old buggy.

The land is flat and quite different from ours.”

Dick Miller filled in at the ladies bridge club the other night at Elizabeth DeBergh’s I always wonder how a man feels with all those ladies. I bet you anything he can’t out-talk them.

Belated birthday greetings to Miss Louise Anderson and Mary Miller Payne. Both were July 10. Also greetings to my sister, Mary Lindenblad. on her birthday July 15.
