Camp At Powell*s

Rappahannock 4-H members will attend camp August 1-6 at Powell’s Port Valley in Shenandoah County along with members from Clarke and Loudoun Counties.
The week will be full of interesting events for campers. During the morning there will be classes in Recreation, handicrafts and safety. In the afternoon swimming classes, soft ball games, horse shoe pitching, etc. mav be enjoyed. Evenings include Vespers, camp fire, stunt night, etc.
The camp staff includes a graduate nurse, senior life guard, adult leaders and Extension workers.
Only 4-H members who have their work up to date may attend camp. The total camping fee is $11.50. Ten dollars to cover room and board and $1.50 for transportation and insurance. .
Since only 45 club members can attend from each county, reservations at $1.00 per camper will be made on “first come first served” basis. This dollar applies to your camping fee if you attend camp or is forfeited if you don’t go to camp. It is due when you send your application.
Fill out you application blank now and return it to the county agent’s office. FINAL DATE FOR ACCEPTING CAMP APPLICATIONS IS JULY 16.
Lawn Party At Chester Gap
A lawn party is being held Saturday evening, July 16 at Greeley’s Store in Chester Gap beginning at 5 p.m. There will be hot and cold drinks, homemade ice c -.•ani. cakes and pies.
