Friday, July 8th. William Hawkins and John P. Jenkins both of Washington, Va. enlisted in the United States Army. They went in the service under the ‘‘buddy plan” and will be at Fort Jackson, S. C. for eight weeks basic training. Upon completion of this training, both are going to the Los Angeles, Calif, area for assignment to a guided missile base.
