Mrs. J. R. Boldridge

Mrs. Annie Marie Boldridge, wife of Dr. James Russell Boldridge of Rixeyville, died Thursday, July 7, in a Winchester hospital where she had been a patient following a sudden illness on Wednesday. She was 70.

Daughter of the late Christian Lewis Hess and Caroline Wilhelmina Niemyer, his wife, she was a native of Chesterfield County. She was a graduate nurse, having completed her training at the Retreat Of The Sick in Richmond in 1910.

Beside her husband, she is survived by four sons, James Russell Boldridge, Jr. of Dinwiddie County, Franklin Boldridge of Ashland, F.dward and John Boldridge, both of Rixeyville; three sisters, Mrs. Frank Ralston of McDowell, Highland County, Miss Margaret Hess of Rock Hill, S. C., and Miss Sophie Hess of Chesterfield County ; and ten. grandchildren.

A funeral service was held Saturday, July 9, from the Geest Funeral Chapel, with interment in Culpeper Masonic Cemetery. Rev. Donald Buchanan, pastor of Gourdvine Baptist Church of which she was a member, conducted the last rites.

Pallbearers were Herman Hess, James Ralston, Ben Ralston, Walter Ralston, Clarence Gore and Walter Gore.

Mrs. Arthur Wake

Mrs. Maude Ella Wake, 71, widow of the Rev. Arthur Wake, Strasburg, Va., died July 10 in Marshall Lodge Memorial Hospital in Lynchburg.

She was born in Grand Junction, Colorado, a daughter o f Leonard B. and Elizabeth Krabbe Brown.

She was a member of the Strasburg Christian Church.

Survivors are six sons. Dr. Orville Wake, Lynchburg; Dr. William L. Wake, Berwyn, 111.; Arthur M. Wake, Lexington, Ky.; S-Sgt. John A. Wake, Barksdale Air Force, Dossier City, La.; Rev. Jean Stuart Wake, Norfolk and Willis C. Wake, Stoneveille, N. C.; also nine grandchildren and one brother and sister: Fred Brown, Roanoke and Mrs. Elmer Frank. Cambridge, N. Y.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, July 12 at 11 a.m. from the Strasburg Christian Church with Rev. Claude R. MacDonald officiating. Interment was in Riverview Cemetery'.

Pallbearers were Clark Crabill, William Bauserman, Ernest Lee Brown, R. Earl Willey, Sr., Jack Funk and R. L. Funk, Jr.
