Sarah’s first cousin, Irving Lee, and his family, who live in Port Orchard, Wash., dropped in to see her today. It was the first time they had seen each other in over twenty years.

Jimmie Settle is doing fine and is gtrfng to Winchester today for an eye examination. He seemed real perky Friday morning when Sarah and I visited him.

It's carnival time in Rappahannock again. Sperryville opens theii three-day firemens carnival tonight on Taylor’s lot. Don’t miss the big parade Friday evening. There will be 98 units fn it.

By the way Miss Ivy Bruce, 1 have used just about all the clippings you sent me. Don’t hunt after trouble,

But look for success. You’ll find what you look for,

Don’t look for distress.

If you see but your shadow,

Remember, I pray, That the sun is still shining,

Mrs. Turner Heads

Missionary Program

The Missionary Society of the Washington Baptist Church met Tuesday, July 15 at the church. Mrs. Lewis Turner was in charge of the program “Baptist Good Will Centers”. There are 34 centers in the United States and 10 in foreign countries.

At the close of the meeting a social hour was held. Members present were Mrs. Turner, Mrs. W. C. Campbell, Mrs. J. Frank Jones. Mrs. Charles Reid, Mrs. Gilbert Updike, Miss Margaret Compton. Mrs. J. E. Keyser and Mrs. Warren Wilbur.
