,A revolving ferris wheel, shouts of glee from the hobby horses, and the succulent aroma of hot dogs and coffee, last night, announced the arrival of carnival-time in Amissville as firemen opened their annual carnival which will continue tonight, Friday and Saturday. The midway ablaze with lights, holds the thrilling rides for folk of all ages and there are games of all kinds to interest eveiyone. The food stand and cake stand contain their bountiful supply of hot dogs, hamburgers, coffee, home m a d e pies, cakes and cookies, for which they are noted.
Highlighting activities tonight, (Thursday) will be a grand pai a’de, beginning at 6:30 p.m. (EST), including fire and rescue squad equipment, marching units, floats, majorettes ,etc., with trophies or prizes awarded for the best in each group.
A queen of festivities will be crowned Friday evening at 8 p.m. She will be chosen from six contestants who are vying for the title. Then* is still time to cast your vote for one of these young ladies if you have not already done so.
Climaxing events Saturday will be the awarding of the grand prize and other prizes. For fun and entertainment, we’ll see you there.
