Mrs. Mary E. Mason
Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Mason, wife of the late James Mason of Castlcton, died Thursday, August 11 in a Staunton hospital where she had been a patient for a few weeks. She was 77 years of age.
Daughter of the late Thomas N. Wayland and Mary Eliza Grimsley Wayland, she is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Lewis Corbin, three granddaughters, Mrs. Betty Ann Foster and Misses Shirley and Jane Corbin all of Flint Hill. Also surviving is a brother. Hood Wayland of Culpeper and two sisters, Mrs. Daisey George of Front Royal and Mrs. Irving Haxton of Silver Spring, Md.
A graveside funeral service was held Saturday morning, August 13, at Washington Masonic Cemetery at Washington. Va., with Rev. B. (i. Titchnell, pastor of Woodville Baptist Church, officiating.
Pallbearers were Lester Way- land,. Chester Wayland, Thomas Williams, Alpheur. Cannon, William I). Cannon, William H. Johnson and Ashby Wayland.
