Russell Brothers Garage in Flint Hitt, Va. was robbed Thursday night, September 29 for the second time in a ma’tter. of a few weeks. This time $170 in'cash was stolen when theives broke open a large iron safe in the office. ,
Indications are that more-than one person was involved, for after entering the rear of the building through a window, the acetylene tanks and torch from the garage, were dragged to the office windowin an apparent attempt to workon the safe with them. However, they were not successful with that method so the combination knob was chisled off and the inside of the lock driven out with a punch, allowing the heavy door to swing free._
The robbery was discovered at 7:30 in the morning when Wallace Russell came to work, and he notified officers at once.
On September 2, the garage, owned and operated by Emory and Wallace Russell, was entered and $30 in cash, cigarettes and a fireman's white shirt were taken. Since then one unsuccessful attempt was made to break into the building.
