ocMCXSoewc According to the L i v as to c k Health Bulletin, put out by the Virginia Department of Agriculture, Rappahannock is falling behind on vaccination of heifers against Bangs disease. Through August but 410 head had been vaccinated in the county, representing only 18.6% of our total heifer population. In 1959 Rappahannock was one of the few Virginia counties having 100% heifers Bang’s vaccinated. If you farmers did it once you can do so again. Next county-wide Bang's vaccination to be organized early in November. Be on alert for notice last of this month.

Yard raking time will soon be here. Turf maintenance specialist at VPI advises getting the job underway as soon as trees start shedding their foliage using a light broom-type rake.
