The week, of November 14-20 has beep proclaimed Book Week throughput the United States. Just as the name signifies, this week is observed by Libraries, Schools and Homes everywhere for the purpose of bringing to the attention of parents amj children alike, the good books of today and yesterday, and the importance of reading.

On Friday of this week, the children! of Rappahannock County will have a holiday from school and Rappahannock High School will hold Parent-Teacher Visitation aa>d Conference Day from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. All are especially invited to visit the Library at this time and the Cafeteria where tea and refreshments will be served during the day. It is hoped that all parents wiH take advantage pf this opportunity to visit and talk with their children’s teachers.| Only through closer relationship with and cooperation between parents and the school can there be a better understanding of teachers to pupils.

Monday of this week, Miss Kirkwodd, of the Virginia State Department, Guidance and Testing Division, visited the school and had a ler|gthy conference with Miss Zinn thf Guidance Director and Mr. Pajlmer and Mrs. Bennett who are also in charge of Guidance at the hph school.

Thanksgiving Dinner

The ladies of the Sperryville Methodist Church will serve their annual Thanksgiving dinner in the cafeteria of Sperryville F.Iementary School on Thursday, November 24 from 4 until 7 p.m. The menu of course, is turkey with all the trimmings.
