UPDIKE WINS
Continued from page one a score of 577 points and Ronnie Coleman, the third member of the Virginia team from Amelia County, placed sixth.
In winning first place the team was awarded $50 in cash to be applied toward expenses in competing in the National 4-H livestock contest to be held in Chicago during the International Livestock Show. Tlie Virginia team will leave on November 18th.
Rappahannock citizens should indeed be proud to have a boy from the county on rhe winning team at the Eastern National Show. Accomplishment cannot he attributed to luck, but is the result of hard work, study and cooperative effort.
All five boys of the Updike family have been winners at the Eastern National Livestock Show.
AWARDS
Continued from page one Miller, Mis. C. E. Johnson. Jr. were given .15-year puis; Mis. James M. Settle received a 20-year pin and Mrs. Alice Verner was presented a 5-vear pin.
The chapter hopes that before awards are given again it will have full records of all deserving service pins. Since the consolidation of the Rappahannock and Fauquier Chapters all records were not complete.
Mr. Paul Nichols of Flint Hill was elected to the Board of Directors of the Fauquier Chapter, to replace Rev. John Divers.
