Is your employer reporting your social security correctly? “Your protection under the law depends upon this,’’ Miss Florence Schaffner, Field Representative of the Alexandria Social Security Office, said today, in urging all workers to protect their own accunts.
Miss Schaffner said that earnings of workers are credited from reports of their employers and that most of them faithfully report these earnings year after year. She added that some, such as household employers and farmers who were covered only recently, may not realize their responsibility, and their employees, in particular, should make sure they are protected. ,
Miss Schaffner explained that post card size forms for checking a worker’s account with social security are available at all district offices and should be used at least, every three years by all workers. If statements returned by social security reveal that earnings are not posted to your record, steps will be taken to correct the omission and insure proper reporting by your employers.
