Governor J. Lindsay Almond, Jr., has urged the people of Virginia to observe April as Cancer ■Control Month.
The Governor stated:
"Cancer strikes families in! every city and town of our State, and
will claim the j lives of some 270,000 Americans this year.
“Hie American Cancer Society, through its progjrams of research, education and service, has helped Americans, alive) today, cured of cancer. One-halfjof all cancer patients could be cured with research offering the prospect of new cures and hope of future cancer prevention. Increased voluntary contributions to the American Cancer Society are needed to attain these aims
